Meet Alden Sherman of Weston, CT. He just celebrated his 100th Birthday and will be bringing his 1938 Bugatti Type 57C to Historic Festival 36. We recently caught up with Mr. Sherman and his wife Jo, where they shared details about the car, including its multiple awards. Mr. Sherman first bought the car in 1950 from a doctor in Richmond, Va. through Gene Cesari in Vermont. When it arrived, it had two body bags in the back filled with parts...car parts that is! Mr. Sherman also said he used to take out the seats in the back and use the car to transport scrap metal - as if it were a pickup truck. Mr. Sherman is well known in Fairfield County, CT for his car collection, for the Alden Sherman Classic Car Show, and as a former business owner aerospace manufacturer. He, like his Bugatti, is a treasure that we look forward to seeing at this year's Historic Festival. Be sure to come by to tell him hello.
