The evening of Saturday, September 2 saw a very special fundraising event at Lime Rock Park, our 60th Anniversary Celebration.
The party was not only to celebrate 60 tremendous years of tradition, beauty and speed at Lime Rock Park, but to also kick-off fundraising for the exciting “Legends of Lime Rock” Commemorative Area in A Paddock.
The celebration was highlighted by a very special gathering of legends, people who are particularly important to Lime Rock’s history and legacy.
David Hobbs, PJ Jones, Sam Posey and Jim Haynes – all drivers at heart, of course, but each of whom became influential beyond the cockpit – engaged in a lively discussion and recounting of special memories, ably prompted by the inestimable racing historian, writer, master of ceremonies, and track and broadcast announcer Greg Rickes (that’s him in the green jacket, thanks to his victory in the 1967 Masters at Augusta National).
In a word, the evening was terrific.
For those of you unable to attend, we thought you would like to see a few photos from the event, as shot by Lime Rock photographers Greg Clark and Taylor Kemp.
