Professional Race Car Driver Ryan Briscoe will be touring downtown Hartford, Conn., on Monday, July 9, 2018, meeting with fans, taking pictures and discussing the science behind racing with area students.

From Noon to 1:00 p.m., Briscoe will be meeting with fans at Bear’s Smokehouse Barbecue restaurant at 25 Front Street in Hartford. Fans can grab an autograph, take a picture and meet Ryan prior to his upcoming race at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Conn., on Saturday, July 21, 2018, during the Northeast Grand Prix.

From 1:30 p.m. to 2:30, Briscoe will meet with students attending summer camp at the Connecticut Science Center at 250 Columbus Blvd. in Hartford. Students and campers at the Connecticut Science Center will receive information about the science of racing, ask questions and receive autographs.

Briscoe is an Australian-born professional race car driver now living in Farmington, CT, with his wife Nicole, an ESPN SportsCenter anchor. He will be competing in the IMSA Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park on July 20 and 21 in the featured IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race.

A favorite for this year’s race at Lime Rock is the No. 67 Ford Chip Ganassi Racing Ford GT team of Ryan Briscoe and co-driver Richard Westbrook. The duo entered the summer stretch in a tight points battle in the GTLM class after a win in the season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona and a runner-up finish at Long Beach.

 

The Northeast Grand Prix will be held on July 20 -21 at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, CT. The Grand Prix will feature the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, one of the premier sports car racing series in the United States and Canada organized by the International Motor Sports Association or IMSA for short, as well as the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge. Along with on-track action, spectators can enjoy food and entertainment options for the entire family.
