Lime Rock Park is again encouraging everyone within “listening” distance to show support for “Spike’s Ride for Sandy Hook,” the huge car-truck-and-bike show, as the second annual fundraising gathering is set for Saturday, May 3 at Connecticut’s famous Northwest Corner motorsports facility. Proceeds benefit the Newtown Police Union and the Rotary Club Sandy Hook Fund.
Last year, George “Spikes” LeGrice and friends made it happen at Lime Rock Park: The car show to benefit Sandy Hook families and first responders was a big success. At the “Spike’s Ride for Sandy Hook,” organizers confirmed more than 2,400 vehicles – cars, motorcycles and trucks – made their way to Lakeville, collecting $26,000 in cash donations.
LeGrice, 28, an EMT and National Guardsman from Brockton, Mass., is again organizing the 2014 “Ride,” with Lime Rock donating the facility and personnel.
