There is one more Street Driving Safety Clinic at Lime Rock, with space available
Lime Rock Park’s last Street Driving Safety Clinic of the season (called "Program 3" of the summer autocross days) is this Saturday, September 23, 1:30 to 6:00 p.m., on the 1/2-mile Infield Autocross course.
Autocross Manager Mike Distefano says this advanced driver-training program is not sold out and that there is still time for late sign-ups.
“By ‘advanced,’ what we mean is that in comparison to the few drivers ed programs that still exist out there, Lime Rock’s Street Driving Safety Clinic is hands-on, real life emergency-scenario training,” Distefano says. “Our professional instructors individually teach and encourage you the entire day. After some necessary classroom instruction, drivers actually practice skid control, threshold braking, emergency lane-change and more, in the vehicle they are most familiar with, their own.
“Over the decades we’ve been teaching car control clinics such as this, we know that having those skill sets ‘in your back pocket’ is absolutely invaluable when it comes to being a better, safer driver on the road,” Distefano says.
At a cost of $80 per hour – way less than the hourly rate a body shop charges – the price for the 4.5-hour Lime Rock Street Safety Driving Clinic is $360.
After registering, simply arrive at Lime Rock’s Main Entrance at 60 White Hollow Road, Lakeville, Conn., between 12:15 and 12:45 p.m.
