More than 1,200 cars fill Lime Rock Park for Sunday celebration featuring landmark Alfa Romeo, Revs Institute and ARCA displays

LAKEVILLE, CONN. (6 September 2026) – More than 1,200 vintage and rare cars filled Lime Rock Park on Sunday as Historic Festival 44 traded the sounds of vintage racing for one of the largest celebrations of automotive history ever held at The Park.

Sunday in The Park presented by HUB International brought together the Lime Rock Concours and Gathering of the Marques, transforming nearly every corner of the 1.53-mile circuit into a showcase of automotive history.

While Friday, Saturday and Monday of Historic Festival 44 are dedicated to the unique sounds, sights and experience of vintage racing, Sunday slows things down, reserving the circuit for celebrating the speed, beauty and tradition of the automobile.

At the center of this year’s celebration was Alfa Romeo, the featured marque of Historic Festival 44. Six Concours classes were dedicated to different generations of Alfa Romeo, complementing the largest gathering of significant Alfa Romeos ever assembled in one place.

Adding to the significance of the weekend was a special collection celebrating the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) and the beginnings of organized sports car racing in the United States.

The ARCA display was joined by an unprecedented collection of automobiles from the Revs Institute, founded by Honored Collector Miles Collier. The collection brought to Lime Rock Park represented the largest display of Revs Institute cars outside of its Naples, Florida, museum.

The Lime Rock Concours itself was once again judged by an esteemed panel of 40 automotive experts, including Guests of Honor Donald Osborne and David Hobbs, along with Lorenzo Ardizio, chief curator of the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo (Alfa Romeo Museum), who flew all the way from Milan, Italy, to be part of this weekend’s festivities.

The panel evaluated more than 190 cars, selecting 19 for Showcase Awards, 23 Best in Class honors and 33 Star of the Rock Awards.

At the top of the field, Ralph Marano’s 1934 Packard 1106 earned Best in Show d’Elegance, while Chuck Schoendorf’s 1952 Cunningham C-3 was named Best in Show Sport.

Another standout was the largest gathering of Abarths in the United States, including the 1966 Abarth 1300 OT “Periscopio,” which earned the Honored Guest Selection.

Beyond the judged Concours field, the Gathering of the Marques brought hundreds more automobiles onto the circuit, with enthusiasts and car clubs representing makes and models from around the world arranged on Lime Rock Park’s 1.53-mile circuit.

Representatives from HUB International, Autodromo, NBT Bank and The Paddock Classic Car Restoration also took part in the award ceremony, presenting special honors to standout cars and their owners.

Sunday in The Park serves as the traditional intermission between Historic Festival’s two sets of racing days. Racing continues Monday as Historic Festival 44 concludes with a final day of vintage competition, including an all-Alfa Romeo race and the Autodromo Sprints.
