Connecticut Children's Fundraiser Surpass 200K Goal

Lime Rock & Partners Help Connecticut Children's Fundraiser Surpass It's 200K Goal

LAKEVILLE, Conn—On Saturday, July 20, 2019, during the IMSA Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park, a check for $7,000 was presented to Connecticut Children's Fund and the Concorso Ferrari fundraising team. The contribution helped exceed the Connecticut Children's Medical Center Foundation's $200,000 goal for its June 22 Concorso Ferrari fundraiser held in West Hartford, Conn.

"Raising the additional $7,000 needed for Concorso Ferrari and Friends to surpass it's goal was a shining star moment at the Northeast Grand Prix," said Lime Rock Park Marketing and Sales Manager Rebecca Lee. "The check presentation held during the pre-race ceremony of the IMSA WeatherTech SportCar Championship, and covered by NBS Sports, was a wonderful way to recognize such a worthwhile charity. We're honored that some of our partners could come together to support the children of Connecticut that are served by the Medical Center."

Saturday's donation was made with the support of the following organizations:
• Lime Rock Park
• Skip Barber Racing School
• Salisbury Bank
• Drink Reed's
• Motorcars Incorporated
• Connecticut Business Systems

The 2019 Concorso Ferrari & Friends event was held on June 23 in West Hartford, and included on-site fundraising efforts by the Skip Barber Racing School and Lime Rock Park. The signature automobile event attracts 10,000 Connecticut Children’s supporters and car enthusiasts each year. The highlight of the event is the “Patient Parade,” which is an emotional and exciting car ride for 40 Connecticut Children’s patients who are paired with drivers and driven into the heart of downtown West Hartford, where they are greeted by the cheers of thousands of spectators and receive a red-carpet welcome. This event celebrates all makes and models of Italian automobiles—from vintage Alfa Romeos, Fiat and Lamborghinis to the supercars of Ferrari, Pagani and Maserati — while raising awareness and critical funding to support Connecticut Children’s.

During a VIP fundraising reception held on Saturday, June 22, at the Farmington Polo Club, Lime Rock Park's Skip Barber was the honored guest. While the participants listened on, Skip was intereviewed by Fox & Friend's Todd Piro and his wife, Fox 61's Amanda Raus.
