Don’t know about you, but those of us here in Connecticut’s Northwest Corner enjoyed a beautiful day of perfect temps, plenty of sunshine, low humidity and some terrific racing. Lime Rock's five Pirelli World Challenge races kept the place buzzing, the Car Corrals were packed, and the Midway felt like a hip little mini-mall.
Tomorrow is the Sunday Royals Car Show on Sam Posey Straight featuring Wayne Carini, proceeds supporting Autism Families Connecticut. Whether you’re showing or sightseeing, there will be hundreds of real old and brand new muscle cars, trucks, sports cars, rods, motorcycles and race cars to enjoy, from GMs, FoMoCos and Mopars to Jags, Lambos and Ferraris.
Which owners will come away with the trophy for Skip Barber’s favorite car? And Wayne Carini’s? And the Royals Family pick? Come for car-show fun while helping a terrific charitable organization.
Gates open at 8:00 a.m., the Royals Show officially starts at 11:00 and the awards ceremony begins at 2:00 p.m. The donation to enter a car or to spectate is $10.
Back to today: From the Pirelli World Challenge action at Lime Rock, take a look at the great photos by Lime Rock’s Greg Clark and Steve Klucik.
