Lime Rock Park is thrilled to announce a special free community movie night at the Colonial Theatre in North Canaan, Conn., as part of the kick-off festivities for the Historic Festival 42. The event will take place on Thurs., Aug. 29 at 8 p.m., immediately following the Historic Festival Parade presented by NBT Bank celebrations in Falls Village.

The featured film for the evening is Rush, a thrilling portrayal of the intense rivalry between Formula 1 drivers James Hunt and Niki Lauda during the 1976 racing season. Directed by Ron Howard, this gripping film captures the excitement and drama of one of the sport’s most famous rivalries, making it a perfect start to the Historic Festival 42.

“What better way to kick off Historic Festival than with two free community events on Thursday; first with the Historic Festival Parade followed by the Community Movie Night at Colonial Theatre,” said Lime Rock Park Chief Marketing Officer Jamie Kistner. “The events offer a nostalgic blend of entertainment and celebration of the rich racing heritage that Lime Rock Park embodies.

“Lime Rock Park is committed to fostering community engagement and celebrating the shared love of motorsport,” continued Kistner. “Historic Festival 42 is a hallmark event that brings together car enthusiasts, families and visitors from all over the world. The movie night at the Colonial Theatre is just one of the many activities planned to commemorate this year’s festival, which promises to be a memorable weekend filled with vintage cars, historic races and family-friendly events.”

While the event is free, Colonial Theatre requires all fans to reserve tickets in advance. Reserve tickets here: https://canaancentennialtheatre.thundertix.com/
