NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Series will make Lime Rock Debut June 27-28, 2025

After a 14-year hiatus, NASCAR will once again race at Lime Rock Park as the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series makes its debut at the Connecticut circuit on June 27-28, 2025.

Lime Rock Park has been a premier venue for diverse events since its inception in 1957, hosting events from the iconic Trans Am weekend on Memorial Day to the Historic Festival, which will celebrate its 42nd edition this Labor Day weekend.

In preparation for NASCAR’s return, Lime Rock Park will undergo several updates during the off-season, including an extension to pit lane and additional safety features.

“Lime Rock Park has been working closely with NASCAR leadership over the last two years to ultimately propel the incredible opportunity to host the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series at the Park in 2025,” said Dicky Riegel, Lime Rock Park CEO. “To say that we are excited about this announcement is a major understatement, as this will surely be the biggest event in Lime Rock Park’s history.  The combination of the incredible NASCAR fan base in New England with the spectacular beauty of Lime Rock will create motorsports magic in Connecticut.”

Lime Rock Park has a long history of hosting NASCAR events, having held 20 races over a 19-year span from 1993 through 2011.

The inaugural NASCAR event at Lime Rock Park was a NASCAR Busch North race in 1993, won by popular NASCAR Cup Series veteran Ken Schrader. The following years saw second-generation road racer Butch Leitzinger dominate, winning three consecutive races and establishing the fall weekend as a staple on the Lime Rock Park calendar.

In 2006, the series transitioned to Busch East and continued to run at Lime Rock Park through 2010. The NASCAR Modified Tour was added in 2010, featuring a double-header event. The final NASCAR race at Lime Rock Park until now was in 2011, with 2003 champion Todd Szegedy winning the Modified race.

The eclectic list of winners at Lime Rock Park includes drivers from various motorsport backgrounds. Matt Kobyluck became a three-time winner with victories in 2005, 2007, and 2008. Former Superbike racer Dale Quarterly captured Busch North rounds in 2001 and 2003, and the opening Modified race in 2010. Other notable winners include Modified legend Ted Christopher (1997), NASCAR Hall of Famer Mike Stefanik (1998), two-time champion Brad Leighton (2004), New Englander Bryan Wall (1999 and 2000), Mexican driver Ruben Pardo (2006), second-generation driver Ryan Truex (2009), and NASCAR Canada star Andrew Ranger (2010).
