LAKEVILLE, CONN. (8 March 2023)- Following a very successful inaugural event in 2022, the Connecticut Craft Beer Grand Prix will return to Lime Rock Park bigger and better on May 28th as part of the Trans Am Memorial Day Classic.

Curated by Great Falls Brewing Co. and Lime Rock Park, the ultimate craft beer experience allows fans to discover the best brews in the state and meet the talented brewers behind them while supporting the Salisbury Winter Sports Association in the process.

“The CT Craft Beer Grand Prix is the first, and only, professional beer competition to showcase the outstanding quality and variety of Connecticut’s craft beers,” said Chris Tripler from Great Falls Brewing Co. which brews a special Lime Rock Park Lager, a “cruising beer” designed to be enjoyed in the infield, outfield and winners circle. “Last year the event generated a large turnout and we are expecting even more breweries from across the state to join us at Lime Rock Park this year. Lime Rock’s lush park-like atmosphere, surrounded by vintage cars makes it the perfect facility to host this event.”

In addition to a busy schedule of traditional race events in 2023, Lime Rock Park will continue to grow its offerings this year by hosting a series of community events, which includes the CT Craft Beer Grand Prix, adding a vast array of activities for the whole family to enjoy while also raising money for local charities. For the full community event schedule visit: Community Events – Lime Rock Park

The CT Craft Beer Grand Prix is from Noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday (May 28). Tickets include unlimited samples from dozens of CT breweries, live music, food trucks, yard games and parking. General Admission tickets to the CT Beer Grand Prix are $35 and can be added to the Memorial Day Classic or Royals Garage Car Show. Designated Drivers will be able to attend the beer festival for free to ensure all participants get home safely. For more information visit: https://tickets.limerock.com/ListingPage.asp?lpid=118

Judging Information:

Breweries will be entering their beers into 15 different categories, including the covenant People’s Choice Award decided by the event attendees. Each category contains a variety of the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) and the Great American Beer Festival defined sub-styles to allow participating breweries to best match and categorize their entries, judged by a planning committee of brewers and experienced beer judges from across the state.

Over the next few weeks, hundreds of beers from all across the state will be collected and professionally judged to determine the best brews in each of the 15 categories.

The mission of the Salisbury Winter Sports Association is to acquaint the nearby communities, especially the children, with Nordic ski-jumping, cross-country and Alpine skiing, and to teach the skills necessary for their enjoyment and lifelong pursuit.
