GRIDLIFE Celebrity Drivers Can’t Get Enough of Lime Rock Park

Lakeville, CT – The highly anticipated Gridlife Circuit Legends event roared into action at Lime Rock Park on Friday, marking the beginning of an unforgettable weekend for motorsport enthusiasts. As the first day of the festival unfolded, attendees were treated to a thrilling showcase of a wide variety of cars on track ranging from TrackBattle Time Attack, GRIDLIFE Touring Cup (GLTC), Rush SR Racing, the Model 3 Challenge which features EVs like Teslas to a full-course drifting and more.

Lime Rock Park, known for its rich racing history, provided the perfect backdrop for the adrenaline-fueled action that Gridlife is known for. The event, which has quickly become a must-attend for New England motorsport fans, continued this season to blend the worlds of motorsports, car culture and good vibes into one immersive experience.

More than 300 cars are slated to participate in Saturday’s events, more than doubling the entries from the Festival’s 2022 inaugural event. The 2024 edition marks only the third time drift cars have taken to the historic circuit, before that, drivers could only practice drifting in video games and simulators. The unique event has attracted several celebrity drivers, like rapper and Grammy winner T-Pain and his copilot former Hoonigan creator HertLife, who got his start racing on video games.

“I am really excited to be here,” said Hert. “Back in the day, I could only drift this car on track in Forza. Lime Rock is just a beautiful facility, everyone here is super nice and the fans are great.”

Professional drifter Justin Pawlak, who has been drifting Ford Mustangs for the last 15 years, is also among the celebrity featured drivers on the roster this weekend.

“Lime Rock is a ton of fun,” Pawlak said. “Turns 1 through 4 are just super smooth and really fast. That little uphill gets the car light and the last corner is so great to link the car up. I like the Gridlife weekends because there’s no egos. Everyone is out to have a good time and happy to be there. Here we are literally putting on a show for everyone to watch. I can throw big angles and just send it. It’s just good vibes here.”

Action continues on Saturday, with happenings both on and off the race track. Saturday will include the Prime Legends Concours. While the track showcases these celebrated cars at speed, the Prime Legends Concours will display iconic and historically significant vehicles for the next generation of automotive enthusiasts. The Prime Legends Concours promises to be a unique curation of the finest examples of tuning-era cars of the 80s, 90s and 00s.

To close out the final day of the festival (Aug. 18), FCP Euro will host its popular Sunday Motoring Meet with a GRIDLIFE flare. The car show and gathering is free on Sunday for fans and entrants.

Gates open at 8:00am on Saturday. Tickets start at $75 at the gate. Active military, veterans and children 12 and under are free.
