Kart the Park Brings High-Speed Family Fun to Lime Rock Park in 2025

A New Must-Do Experience for Thrill-Seekers in Litchfield County

LAKEVILLE, Conn. (26 March 2025) – Nestled in the rolling hills of Litchfield County, Lime Rock Park has long been a sanctuary for motorsport enthusiasts. Now in 2025, a brand-new adrenaline rush is set to hit the track as Lime Rock Park rolls out its new Kart the Park program, an arrive-and-drive karting experience that delivers high-speed excitement for drivers of all skill levels.

Powered by Housatonic Racing Development (HRD), Kart the Park will launch this spring  offering both adults and children (eight and older) the chance to take the wheel, choosing from two different configurations on the FCP Euro Proving Grounds—a half-mile circuit known for its tight turns, elevation changes and fast-paced action.

The Junior Course is a safe, introductory track where young drivers can gain confidence and build their skills behind the wheel, while the Super Course is a full-length, high-intensity layout featuring elevation changes and technical corners that bring out the racer in everyone.

With up to 12 gas-powered karts on track per session, each eight-minute session is a head-to-head battle for bragging rights.

The go-karts prepped by Housatonic Racing Development are CRG’s Centurion available to rent in both adult and junior spec, with helmets & protective neck rolls provided for each driver. More information is available on the Kart the Park webpage.

Thanks to the help of our partner HRD, Kart the Park isn’t just for the pros—it’s a new way to experience Lime Rock Park for the whole family,” said Chief Marketing Officer Jamie Kistner. “Parents, kids, friends and colleagues can watch the action unfold from trackside viewing areas while enjoying Lime Rock Park’s picturesque setting. It’s the perfect way to introduce a new generation to the world of motorsports in a safe, controlled environment. Whether you’re a karting rookie or a competitive spirit looking for your next challenge, Kart the Park is about creating unforgettable racing memories right here in Connecticut.”

Kart the Park’s first season will feature 18 dates spanning April through October 2025, giving participants plenty of chances to hit the track.

“We’re excited to be a partner with Lime Rock Park to bring this much anticipated family-fun activity to the area,” said Jack Scott, owner of Housatonic Racing Development. “Karting has always been a first step into motorsports and we’re happy to provide this opportunity to shape the new generation of enthusiasts and drivers in a fun, safe environment here in Northwest CT. Bring the whole family!”

Kart the Park is an arrive-and-drive experience, meaning no prior karting experience or special equipment is needed—just register, show up, buckle in and hit the gas.
